OREIA PreviewGDREIA members got a rare treat at September’s Third Wednesday general membership meeting (9/21/16). They participated in a free, three-hour class in real estate investment -- led by Cincinnati “Real Estate Goddess” Vena Jones-Cox. The session began with the longtime investor’s detailed explanation of the 18-year real estate cycle – and went on to cover specific investment strategies and recaps of Jones-Cox’s recent investment transactions. Along the way, attendees learned about teachers who offer more information on specialties covered during the evening – teachers who will be featured in the OREIA Convention at the Great Wolf Lodge on November 3-6, 2016. Among the insights shared during Jones-Cox’s class: Dayton’s real estate market is still in the expansionary, rebuilding stage following the last recession – behind markets including Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Nashville – where new housing construction is beginning to exceed demand.
