Pizza Night and Finance Panel – October Third Wednesday Meeting

Investors enjoyed an evening of conversation, networking and pizza at GDREIA’s Third Wednesday meeting for October (10/19/16). There was plenty of delicious pizza for everyone, and a lot of friendly conversation around the room. Investors were busy talking about recent purchases and sales, discussing rehab techniques, financing strategies and more. You could learn a lot just be being there and listening in!(Click photo to see more)

Later in the evening, our real estate finance panel outlined the practical requirements of applying for investment financing in today’s economy. Attendees heard about lending guidelines form a four perspectives: a mortgage broker (Jonathan Holloway of FFC Mortgage), a commercial banker (Shane Wilken of First Financial Bank) and a residential lender (Cheryl Mathis of Caliber Home Loans). In addition, multifamily property investor (and longtime GDREIA member) Tom Di Nino, discussed his experiences with lenders and equity partners.

Among the important insights delivered by the discussion: investors should partner and combine their strengths when applying to lenders – to assure the application meets lender requirements of investor experience, creditworthiness, and financial reserves.
