Have Questions About Your Property’s Revaluation?
By Larry D. Hudson
You probably have you notice in hand by now.
The Montgomery County Auditor’s office has been sending mail to property owners notifying them of new estimates of valuation for their properties. This follows the 2017 market update for properties across Montgomery County.
Chances are your new property number will be higher than the one from 2014’s property revaluation. Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith said the market update’s results, based on three years of market data, showed 63 percent of properties across the county gaining value.
For residential property the overall gain was 6.3 percent, he said.
If you have questions about your property’s updated valuation, Montgomery County is ready to talk. You can reach its Property Owner Hotline at (937) 225-5096.
Keith told Greater Dayton REIA’s Third Wednesday meeting for July (7/19/17) the county is conducting informal one-on-one meetings with property owners to answer questions at 15 locations across the county. To schedule a meeting, call the Property Owner Hotline at the number above.
